We interupt this program for a special announcement. Several requests for me to "do something political" have flooded my in-box. I suppose this image fits the theme as this IS the Gallery of the ABSURD. This is a portrait of George Bush in his first term, so it's a bit outdated....but not really. Karl Rove would have looked nice as a hovering bat, no? We will now return to our regularly scheduled program, please stay tuned for more Hollywood antics...

*snickering*
Nice work, I'm still browsing through the rest of the archives. I saw the section labeled "George Bush" and immediately wondered if I really wanted to take a look (I'm a moderate that tends to lean conservative, Republican, and generally side with the current administration on about 80% of matters).
Good to know I was worried over nothing. Most people tend to go just a bit overboard when it comes to criticizing him (because even I'll admit it: the man is one HELL of an easy target). Glad to see you didn't.
And as one Republican to another, I've got a message to the previous (and undoubtedly future) posters who've decided to attack you for this: lighten up, pissants. There's an old saying you nitwits should look into; "Blessed is he who can laugh at himself".
Keep up the good work, 14.

Oh crap, I just lost my paintbrush somewhere in my mound of flesh!
gotta run, there's a huge pipin' hot bucket of fried chicken waiting for me in the kitchen.

That's right, you so fat, when you sit around the studio, you really sit AROUND the studio.
Haw Haw Haw!
14, howcome the people who write mean stuff can't figure out how to use a goddamn shift key?
Paint on, girl, paint on!

I dunno, maybe I'm so fat that there isn't enough paint to get the job done?
Posted by: 14 | July 27, 2005 at 12:28 PM

Bush so resembles his mom with his beautiful heirloom shawl draping his shoulders... touching. Is his neck covered to hide the bite marks?

It almost reminds me of a tarot card. I love it.

I like how you've managed to include women via the snakes at the top! Weeeeeeeeeehoo!

Bella,
I really, really like this one. It almost has an on top of wood quality. Classic stuff and not too nasty.
Posted by: Damien | July 22, 2005 at 11:52 PM
That looks so familiar? Did I see it in a store wall or something?

I'm still holding out for Karl Rove, naked, on the cover of Vanity Fair. C'mon, 14, pretty please?
Posted by: Viper Tetsu | July 22, 2005 at 10:08 AM
I like the golf club in his left hand, not to mention the Enron smoking in the background. The destruction of the environment is very accurate. God, I hate Bush. I'm starting to get angry, oh so very angry! Don't let this be your last political picture. Do one of Condoleeza Rice. Her face is ugly and bizarre-like her politics. She deserves a picture!
So Much Love,
Demon Kitty

First time here...and I love it already...I bookmarked your site as soon as I saw that drawing of Bush...Brilliant!!!
Are you a Latina?

Hun, you're pure genius! I love it, especially the little elephant on wheels. Pure genius.

Don't let anyone limit your scope. You're too good to only paint Hollywood celebrities. Some of the biggest human absurdities are those who rule. Karl Rove, aka "Turdblossom," and Tom DeLay practically beg for your incisive distillation.

What, no portraits of Congressman Fred "Gopher" Grandy?!
Posted by: Knuckles McGillicutty | July 20, 2005 at 09:25 PM
Actually, Nancy Pelosi would offer you more artistic avenues of expression, what with the ears and botox enaht.

Excellent!!! So some people are actually aware of what's going on despite all the efforts to distract us. That gives me hope!!!
Posted by: Ed | July 20, 2005 at 08:23 PM
I await your Barbara Boxer or Sheila Jackson Lee. Those will be awesome as well. (I guess Hillary is too obvious.)
Posted by: Kim | July 20, 2005 at 07:36 PM
not to worry sweetie...this is the only political post that will ever be seen here. It makes my head hurt to paint politicians. It makes my head hurt to paint "celebrities" too, but the US media pays more attention to the drama of celebrities: Puppets to distract us from the real news that impact our lives.....
Posted by: 14 | July 20, 2005 at 06:46 PM
Actually, it's not my political opinion. It's just that every good website starts going partisan in any direction, starting political arguments and ruining what good old fashioned fun was there in the first place.
Posted by: | July 20, 2005 at 05:48 PM
Caustic, trenchant, brilliant. Period. End of fucking sentence. If the perceived partisanship off-puts some of your site's visitors, fuck 'em. Were a democrat in office, you'd be having a high old time lampooning him.
Politics totally set aside, this is an amazing illustration. One of your finest.

Good one, Amanda!
Since none of her readers are payin' , why does this sidestep into politics concern you, blank person? Are you perhaps a stockholder in the Worldwide 14 Corporation? No?
Well, for those of us who *are* (we buy her cheap drinks at happy hour whenever we're in the same town) we are only too happy to laugh at a good rendering of a bad president.
One of your best, 14. I owe you an absinthe and champagne, next time you're in Vancouver.

Alienating isn't bad if you're simply weeding out the idiots.
Posted by: Amanda | July 20, 2005 at 04:33 PM
alienate. I like that word!
Posted by: 14 | July 20, 2005 at 04:25 PM
And it will be your foray into politics that probably alienates more than half your readership.
Posted by: | July 20, 2005 at 04:09 PM
14 you have captured the constipated looks on the faces of those following the wee smirking monkey!
