Yes, I took a long break from making art and spent the summer wandering forests and drinking wine with laughing shamans. It's true - and I needed it. Anyway, I'm back now and just finished this portrait of Tom Waits for the Caricaturama Showdown 3000 group on Facebook. Listening to Waits' music, I've always pictured him as a grizzled satyr who creeps around in the darkness and uses his pan flute to concoct music out of moonlight and fire. Medium: digital painting.
A great artwork. But am I the only one who's scared of this portrait of Tom Waits? :( I don't know why, but it's kind of scary to me. Maybe it's because of his horns and sharp ears.

Um, 14 Darling,
Was Mave being facetious or innocent by saying you "nailed" him?
Because, personally, the MANicure is killing me. I suppose I COULD stop sniggering, but for the age spots.
You are a wicked wonder.
XOXOXO

Seems about right. Ever seen his turn as Dracula's servant in Francis Ford Coppola's version of "Dracula"?
